Insulated or Non-Insulated?
Before choosing a door style, you’ll want to decide what construction type meets your needs.
One-Layer: Non-insulated
Our non-insulated garage door features a single-layer steel construction with an exposed interior. It is our most cost-effective model and a great choice for those that are not looking for temperature control or the added durability of the insulated models.
Two-Layer: Polystyrene Vinyl Back Insulated
Our two-layer insulated garage door is a valuable mid-range selection. It is constructed with a layer of steel in the front, a layer of high-quality insulation on the interior, and covered by a vinyl backing. This door does offer a decent amoung of temperature control and added durability due to its thickness.
Three Layer: Polystyrene Steel Back Insulated (Most Popular!)
Our three-layer insulated door is consistently our most recommended and top-selling product, and for good reason! This exceptionally robust construction type incorporates a steel layer on both the exterior and interior, encapsulating a dense, high-quality core of insulation. This design delivers outstanding structural rigidity and effectively shields the door from daily impacts in comparison to the two-layer vinyl back (it is prone to nicks and scratches that the steel back is not as susceptible to). For the vast majority of residential properties, this specific door provides more than sufficient insulation.
Three Layer: Polyurethane Steel Back Insulated (Most Insulated!)
For clients seeking an even higher level of thermal protection, our doors featuring polyurethane insulation are the superior choice. These models are optimally suited for those that have a converted garage into living spaces, dedicated workshops, or areas used for storing temperature-sensitive materials. Furthermore, they may contribute significantly to year-round reductions in home energy costs. To really see the benefits of this door, the garage itself will need to have a high level of insulation and proper weather sealing.
